The Giants fell to a punishing dfeat in the north east at the hands of their least favourite rivals.
The much-decorated Eagles are one of the favoutites for the BBL and have held the Indian sign over the club for a number of years.
A 16-0 start from the home set a familiar pattern and there was no way back for the Giants, who were still without new signing Richard Bell.
Centre Donotas Visokis featured just days after his arrival in the UK but with four points and a rebound couldn't help stem the Eagles' flow.
Callum Jones and new boy Anastasios Traianos hit 13 points each but after going down 37-10 after a quarter and 61-28 by half-time it was an uphill fight for the visitors.
