Preview: Manchester Giants vs Plymouth City Patriots

Two precious British Basketball League competition points are up for grabs on Thursday night as Manchester Giants welcome Plymouth City Patriots to the NBPC.

It promises to be a huge bottom-of-the-table encounter, with the Giants knowing that only a win will do if they harbour ambitions of finishing the regular season in a play-off position.

Thursday's outing will also see Coach Semonian's players take to the court in a league match for the first time since their 86-75 defeat at Sheffield Sharks on New Year's Eve, with their attention more recently on the Trophy group stages.

Below, we’ve compiled everything you need to know ahead of the fixture.

Current form

On the league front, the Giants endured a mixed bag of results during December - picking up three wins and five defeats.

Two of those victories came at the NBPC, and they will hope to replicate the same kind of performance which saw the Patriots leave empty-handed on their last trip to Manchester.

It ended 91-90 on that day, with both teams giving their all until the final buzzer.

Plymouth have won just three times in the league this season, but a raft of recent additions mean it is likely to be a much-changed side to the one that travelled north back in November.

How to watch the game live

Thursday’s British Basketball League fixture at the National Basketball Performance Centre has a tip-off time of 7:45pm and will be broadcast live on YouTube.
