We at the Manchester Giants wish Dan Clark a happy retirement, the GB captain announced his retirement at age 34.

The 6”11 Greenwich born GB international and British basketball legend most recently played for the Manchester Giants during the 2021/22 BBL season where he averaged 12.8 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists which earned him both BBL British team of the year and BBL team of the year honours.

Since his debut in the Spanish top flight at 17 years old, Clark has played consistently at the top flights of European basketball.

As well as playing top flight basketball, Dan Clark also represented the GB national team. The forward/ centre made his debut against Poland in 2009 and amassed a total of 119 total caps. Clark is also the only GB international to surpass 1000 (1,100) points while on international duty and the only one to surpass 500 (555) rebounds whilst representing the nation.

He finished as the all time leader in blocks as well as second in assists and third in steals. Clark was also the first GB player to sign a junior contract in mainland Europe even with top US colleges such as Syracuse vying for his services.

An illustrious career and a trailblazer in Great British basketball, Dan Clark paved the way for more GB basketball players to go over into Europe and served as a role model professional.

We once again wish you the best of luck in your future endeavours.
