Leicester Riders bounced back from their first defeat in fourteen games to take themselves to within one win of the BBL Championship title, overpowering Manchester Giants 103-62 at Morningside Arena.
Riders now hold 13 straight wins over Giants, dating back four years, and travel to Plymouth Raiders on Sunday with an opportunity to seal a third straight league title.

Turning point – Leicester established an early lead through the three-point shooting of Tyler Bernardini, Eric Robertson and Harrison Gamble, twice, for an 18-9 advantage. And it went through double-figures with a 15-4 start to the second, 39-20, as Gamble got into double-figures early on in what became a 23-6 eight-minute spell.
Key stat – Settling the game in the first half, Riders were shooting 70% on the inside by the break with the bigs, Pierre Hampton and Chris Tawiah, 8/8 between them. Riders also scored 34 points from the 19 turnovers they forced in the game.
Game hero – Pierre Hampton didn’t miss all night as he scored 23 points in just 17 minutes, shooting 10/10 from the field and 2/2 at the line, to go with four assists and two steals.
