INGUS Bankevics fired the Giants to a thrilling home win over Surrey.
The Latvian hit seven of his ten three-point efforts for 28 points as Jeff Jones’ men held off a resurgence from United.
Stefan Gill was also prolific from deep, hitting all four of his strikes from behind the arc on his way to 23 points.
The Giants took the first quarter 28-25 and held a 49-41 lead going into half-time.
They built a lead of as much as 14 points before Surrey hit back with the score at 76-72 in the home team’s favour going into the final period.
The Giants started it strongly and built up another sizeable advantage which they held on to, despite a desperate Surrey effort.
Ben Eaves (14, 9 rebounds), Callum Jones (14, 9 assists) and David Watts (10, 6 rebounds) were also in double scoring figures.
Coach Jones said: “It’s great to get back to winning.
“We showed compisure when Surrey put us under pressure in the secind half and we got a good win.
“Ingus showed he can score but he’s also great defensively.”
