There is just a month to go until Manchester Giants take on USA Select in an exhibition game to help raise money for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund.

As well as having donation buckets at the game, donating money from Chuck-a-Duck proceeds and other fundraising, the Giants players will also wear a “We Love Mcr” slogan on their vests – which will be worn for the whole season.

Rachel Weaver, Senior Community Fundraiser at the Red Cross, said: “The Red Cross is truly grateful to have the support of the community in fundraising for the We Love Manchester appeal.

“Following the terrible attack on the Manchester Arena, the British Red Cross deployed staff and volunteers to provide practical and emotional support at the Etihad rest centre, and is now providing direct emotional support to the families of those affected.

“As well as supporting families and loved ones affected by the attack, Red Cross ambulances and crew were deployed to hospitals throughout Greater Manchester, helping people who were not involved in the incident to get home safely, freeing up much-needed beds.

“Funds raised from We Love Manchester support events will be used to ensure that those affected and their families to not suffer any short term financial implications following bereavement or injury.

“Thank you to the Manchester Giants Basketball Club for your support.”
