Bristol Flyers 78-66 Manchester Giants (20-7, 36-22, 60-46)

The winning run of stand-in head coach Nick Burns continued for Bristol Flyers as he picked up his third success since the departure of Andreas Kapoulas to the Commonwealth Games.

Flyers raced out of the blocks to take control early and there was a milestone for captain Brandon Boggs, who passed his 2016-17 haul in the BBL Championship after scoring 10 points.

Leading scorers – Goodwin 26, Weary 19, Boggs 10 (Flyers), Kadiri 19, Whelan 11, Crook 10 (Giants)

Turning point – There wasn’t one as Flyers got hot from the tip-off and it was more or less game over after 10 minutes as the hosts amassed a commanding 20-7 opening quarter lead.

Key stat – The lack of firepower in the Giants’ ranks was completely exposed during the first-half, when they only racked up 22 points. They also gave up 21 second chance points to Flyers.

Game hero(es) – Rohndell Goodwin starred with a fine 26 points, while Adam Weary played the important cameo with 19 points, 5 boards, 4 assists and 2 steals.
