The spread of the COVID-19 virus is a serious threat to the health of many people in our country and around the world. As a club, we have a duty to do whatever is in our power to protect our players, junior players, coaches, staff/volunteers and our wonderful fans.

Over the weekend, on top of the cancellation of games for our junior Giants, we suspended all training as a preventative measure.

The first team met with Jamie Edwards to discuss the current situation.  It was decided that our internationals, Ronalds Elksnis, Del’vin Dickerson and Edu Arqués would return home.

In a statement, Jamie Edwards said, “This wasn’t the way we wanted to finish. There was a lot of progress on and off the court but the priority is the well-being of the group. I would like to thank the guys for their effort over the past few weeks and over the season.”

On the subject of departing players, Danny Byrne said,”We wish the guys well and I thank them on behalf of the club and the fans for their efforts.  A tough situation for all but one that we had to pull through together. This has all come so quickly. ”

We are working closely with the BBL and other clubs and will give you more information as it becomes available.  We thank you for your understanding and continued support.
