Legend Robertin Becomes a Manchester Giant

The Manchester Giants bolster their frontcourt with the signing of the monstrous paint general Legend Robertin.

The 7”1 big man joins the Giants after applying his trade for fellow BBL side the Surrey Scorchers last season, there he averaged 8.9 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in limited minutes, the London native also averaged a career high 1.4 blocks per game over the season and a season high 4 blocks against the Cheshire Phoenix. In the same game he also scored a career high of 21 points on 75% scoring from the field.

Legend Robertin played 3 seasons of NCAA basketball, 2 with the prestigious Clemson Tigers and the final with Nicholls state. It wasn't until playing and signing his first pro contract in Italy that he truly showed the basketball world of his abilities. During his time in Italy, Legend played for two separate teams in the Serie-C division of italian basketball.

There he had back to back seasons where he averaged double doubles. This play would see him move to the Slovakia Extraliga with Prievidza. During his 27 games in Slovakia, he averaged 7.4 points and 5.2 rebounds on improved field goal percentage and improved blocks per game ratio.

Vince Macaulay had this to say about his newest front court acquisition: “ I’m delighted to have Legend with us, I feel he has so much upside and it’s vital to realise it now, we’ll enjoy developing him and harnessing his power alongside the way we want to play. I just think defensively he can allow us to be very aggressive”.

Legend Robertin had this to say about his second season in the BBL and his first as a Manchester Giant “I’m excited for my second year in the BBL and for that to be playing for the Manchester giants and coach Vince. Manchester is a great city with even greater fans. I'm ready for an action packed season”. The BBL season kicks off on September 23rd.

It will be the first time to see Legend Robertin in a Giants jersey as the Giants take on the Bristol Flyers. The same weekend, the giants are at home to the Sheffield Sharks on September 25th. Further team news is expected immediately whilst tickets and further details around our games will come nearer the season start.
