Giants produced an excellent performance to secure a win against rivals Cheshire Phoenix in a thrilling 85-83 victory.

It was a tense finale, but we battled to victory to secure two consecutive wins on the run. We came out firing dominating the first quarter to lead 30-21 at the break with Watts taking 12 points.

The Giants continued to dominate into the second quarter and proved clinical in front of the net assisted by the ruthless defense, which saw us go into half time with a comfortable 44-38 lead.

Aliu and James Jones was on target in front of the basket with three pointers coming at crucial stages in the game for the Giants to maintain their momentum. Cheshire pressurised late into the third quarter, and started to claw back the deficit, which saw the Giants hold a marginal 2-point lead.

Debutant Steven Thomson responded in his first touches of the game to net vital points for the Giants to finish the third quarter 65-61 in the home side_
