Manchester Giants are pleased to announce the signing of hometown centre Jack Crook.
Crook, 24, has been playing in Georgia for Rustavi where he has averaged 10 points and nine rebounds per game.
He has previously played in Spain with CB Agustinos Eras in LEB Plata, averaging 10 points and 9.5 rebounds last season.
Coach Danny Byrne said: “We tried to sign Jack in the summer, but he wanted to continue his European adventure.
“When we found he was available two weeks ago, we made sure we signed him for the rest of the season.
“He’s a player that fits in with the Giants ethos, he’s a hometown lad and I’m sure our fans are going to look forward to seeing him in Giants colours.
“Jack’s going to add height and aggressive defence and I’m sure he’ll compliment David Kadiri. It’s going to be exciting watching them two play together.”
Crook, who hails from Radcliffe, began his career with Manchester Magic before going to Seattle University in the USA.
He said: “I’m excited to be joining the club. I had a couple of offers in Spain but after being messed around a bit I wanted to come home.
“I’ve been keeping up with the stats as I always do for my local teams and hopefully I can help push the team across the line and get a few more wins.”
Another new signing is due to arrive in the country imminently and will be available for the double-header weekend against Leicester and Newcastle.
The game at Leicester will be broadcast live on free-to-air TV, on the FreeSports TV channel.
