Fans favourite Jerelle Okoro is the latest confirmed re-signing for the new season at Manchester Giants.

Okoro, 26, became an integral part of the Giants roster last year and returns to play a key part in new coach Danny Byrne’s plans for the upcoming campaign.

The Londoner played more minutes than anyone other than Callum Jones, and returned with 14 points per game.

His fast paced, exciting style of play always catches the attention of home fans and of course, the highlight reels.

Coach Danny Byrne said: “Jerelle is a player that once we let go last season and stopped restricting his movement, he got better and better.

“I know that if we push him more, we can get more out of him.

“He’s a real franchise player and will be a main part of the team and its success.”

Okoro added: “I’m ready to step up to the plate. I’m ready to embrace the challenge from being a team that finished at the bottom to being a serious contender for titles.

“I have a really good relationship with Danny and he wants me to really grow this season and show everyone what I am capable of doing.

“I’m really excited.”

Okoro, who has been busy working on his drinks business Tuice with team-mate Sam Lane, starred in Drew Sullivan’s testimonial game in Leicester last weekend, as well as turning out in the Hoops Aid match at the O2 Arena before the play-off final.

He will return to Giants colours on September 3, when Danny Byrne’s men take on USA Select in their first pre-season game. Tickets are available now at
