The Giants chucked away a 15-lead as Surrey Scorchers fought back to claim a one-pont win in Manchester.

The visitors had a one-point lead heading into the final minute when four points from Mike Anderson all but sealed the win with Stefan Gill netting from deep at the buzzer, in vain.

The Giants had the hot hand in the opening quarter with Jerelle Okoro making his first three shots, including two from downtown, as the home side racked up 26 points in the period. The shots from beyond the arc continued to drop in the second and the home side opened up a 43-28 advantage.

However, a strong finish gave Surrey momentum to take into the half-time break, and they came out fighting in the third to eventually level at 49. Manchester restored their lead to edge ahead by two at the end of the third with an exciting finish set up.

Scoring was hard to come by for both teams early in the fourth, and the game was evenly poised at the midpoint with the scores level at 65. Nick Schlitzer pushed the Scorchers ahead, and they managed to maintain their advantage until the conclusion with Mike Anderson coming up big down the stretch.

Gill had 21 points for the Giants as they return to the foot of the table after suffering their 22nd league defeat of the season.
