GIANTS pulled off a morale-boosting victory at home against the Durham Wildcats.
After a big loss at Newcastle on Saturday night, a victory was vital.
And a team effort produced it – despite some dogged play by the visitors.
The Giants led 25-20 after the third quarter but the Wildcats hit back to take a 48-47 lead into half-time.
The Giants got the better of a tense third quarter and took a 63-59 advantage into the final period.
They never looked back, extending their lead to hold off the Wildcats.
Ben Eaves led the team with 20 points and eight rebounds with Mike Bernard contributing 17 points and Stefan Gill 14.
David Watts hit 11 and Callum Jones had 8 plus six assists and 10 rebounds.
It puts the Giants into sixth spot in the BBL table with a 7-10 record.
