The Giants were hit with a second-half barrage on their return to the Copper Box.

Danny Byrne’s men gave the BBL leaders a run for their money in the first half in the capital.

They recovered from a slow start with a huge second quarter to turn an eight-point deficit into an eight-point lead at the half.

However, the Lions dominated the third period, holding the Giants to just 10 points as they regained control of the contest and never looked back.

The Giants ran out of gas as the home team ran away with the game and the win.

Mike McCall hit 24 points for the visitors with Torry Butler on 19 and Callum Jones 16.

Brandon Peel had 21 for the Lions, Jordan Spencer had 19 and Ladarius Tabb 18.

The Lions took the opening quarter 28-20 but the Giants outscored their opponents 34-18 in the second for a 54-46 half-time lead.

But the game swung back to the Lions as they took a 77-64 lead into the fourth and kept on stretching their advantage.

It means the Giants are 10/11 in league action.
