Plymouth Raiders poured cold water on the Giants’ hot away form.

Coach Danny Byrne’s men have won three times on the road already this season.

But they could not pull off a fourth on the south coast much on Sunday, much to Byrne’s disappointment on his return to his home town.

“Not the homecoming I wanted,” he tweeted. “We know we sucked today, didn’t play the Giants way. Got to put the work in for next Sunday.”

Plymouth edged an even first period 25-20 but grabbed 30 points in the second period as they began to pull away.

Their lead moved beyond 20 early in the third and the home team were able to close out the victory.

The Giants had troubles from three-point range, hitting just 22% from deep.

And they were wasteful from the free throw line, scoring just 10 of 20.

Vlatko Granic led the Giants with 22 points and 10 rebounds while Willie Clayton had a, by his standards, modest double double of 11 points and 11 rebounds before fouling out.

Ingus Bankevics had 17, while Callum Jones scored 10.
