JHP_2383 copyTHE Giants earned a big BBL play-off boost with a confident win at Surrey.

Stefan Gill led the visitors with 24 points and five assists, while Rob Marsden scored 23 and James Jones hit 15 and made eight assists.

Callum Jones (11), David Watts (11, 9 rebounds) and Yorick Williams (10) made it five Giants in double figures.

The first quarter was even at 20-20 then the Giants pulled away to build 48-38 advantage at half-time.

They went as much as 18 in front during the third and started the fourth 76-60 to the good.

Surrey made some inroads into that lead but could not overhaul a dominant Giants.

The win keeps the Giants in ninth place in the BBL table but they are now level on points with Durham, who they have the head-to-head advantage over, and Plymouth, who visit Wright Robinson in a fortnight.
