GIANTS fell just short for the second time this season at Worcester.
In a tight, hard-fought game Jeff Jones’ men came from behind to tie the game twice – at 49 and 67.
But each time the home team edged away again.
The Giants scrapped back into it again inside the last minute with Ingus Bankevics’ two shots from the line getting them within three points at 83-80.
But the Wolves held on through two shots of their own from the stripe as the Giants looked for a levelling opportunity.
The Wolves led 25-15 after a quarter but by just 39-38 at half-time.
They held a 63-55 lead going into the fourth before the Giants hit back to level and stay close for the remainder of the period – but the home team held out for the win.
Ingus Bankevics and Stefan Gill both hit 23, while the Latvian had 9 rebounds and 5 assists.
Callum Jones had 10 points and 7 boards and Mike Bernard hit 9.
